 Coaching Staff 

Kevin Bernot, Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, QB's

Coach Bernot is in his second year as the Head Coach for the Rams. After completing an 8-2 season and earning the #1 seed in the 2A West Region in 2009, the Rams look to build on that success. Bernot is a 1990 graduate of Sherwood High School. He attended Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison, Colorado where he graduated with a degree in History. In 2004 he completed a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Maryland. 

 

Coach Bernot began teaching in 1996 at Glenwood Springs Middle School where he was the middle school wrestling coach as well as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator for the Glenwood Springs High School football team. Bernot returned to Maryland and began teaching Social Studies at Sherwood in 2001. Upon completion of his degree from UMD he resumed coaching as Assistant Offensive and Defensive Line coach for the Sherwood Warriors. In 2005 he became the JV Offensive Coordinator compiling a 29-6 record in 4 seasons. During his time at Sherwood, the Warriors played in 3 State Championship games, winning the title in 2008.  

 

Bernot is the Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) and Internship Coordinator at Rockville HS.

 

Coach Bernot and his wife Vanessa were married in August 2006 in Redstone, Colorado. The proud couple gave birth to their first child, Emma Grace Bernot on November 29, 2009.

Seth Kenton, Defensive Coordinator, Receivers

Coach Seth Kenton is in his second year as Defensive Coordinator at Rockville High School.  He graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a double major of Biology and Human Performance.  He is currently finishing a Master's Degree from McDaniel College in Exercise Science.

 

Kenton coached football, basketball, and baseball at Smithville High School in Smithville, Texas for three years before moving to Maryland.  He has been teaching biology and coaching football and track at Sherwood High School since 2003.  He is a Biology teacher at Rockville.

 

Coach Kenton and his wife, Emily had their first son, Brooks in 2008.

Everett Cammack, Offensive Line, Defensive Line

Coach Everett Cammack is in his first season with the Rams and will be working with the offensive and defensive lines.  Cammack has coached every position in football and is dedicated to the success of the players on and off of the field.

 

Cammack played football for the Wheaton's Boys Club, Wheaton HS, and the U.S. Army.  He has been coaching for approximately 23 years in both youth leagues and high schools, coaching at Northwest High School from 1999 through the 2008 season.   Cammack also coached at the Art Monk camps for six years as well as the NFL Junior Player Development camps and was awarded the Head Coach Award in 2005 for Outstanding Performance, Dedication and Leadership.  Cammack is also a varsity assistant Lacrosse coach at Northwest High School.

 

Cammack is a Police Officer with the Gaithersburg Police Department.  He is an avid musician with the drums as his favorite instrument. His charity involvement includes donations to Wheel Chairs for Athletes, Food for Children, Myasthenia Gravis, and other police and fire charities. He served as a commissioner for football and wrestling at the Seneca Sports Association, Inc.

 

Coach Cammack lives in Germantown with wife, Terry. He has six children: Sean, Nigel, Justin ('02), Morgan ('07), Kelly Seals, and Ryan Seals.

Dan Kecman, Linebackers, Tight Ends

Coach Dan Kecman is in his seventh year as a volunteer coach for the Rams after joining the staff in 2003. His linebackers have consistently lead the team in tackles and several have received all county honors. He coached his son John in 2003 and 2004.

 

Kecman grew up in western Pennsylvania and played center and linebacker for the West Mifflin North Vikings where he earned all Western Conference honors. He was also a member of the Vikings 1963 Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) AA Championship team.   He received a football scholarship to the University of Maryland in 1966 where he started at linebacker for three years. Kecman was a teammate of current Terp coach Ralph Friedgen and in 1969 was awarded the Brookland Club Award for Outstanding College Defensive Player.   In 1970, Kecman signed as a free agent with the Boston Patriots and spent most of the year on the active and practice team rosters. Subsequently, he had try-outs with the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals.

 

Kecman's coaching career began as a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland in 1971.  He joined Scotty Glacken's staff at Georgetown University in 1973 as linebacker coach and continued coaching there until 1987. After a hiatus, he resumed coaching with the St. Francis of Assisi Wolfpack in 2001 before joining the Rockville staff in 2003.

 

Kecman has been with the IBM Corporation for almost 36 years and is currently a Client Relationship Manager with IBM's Federal sales organization. He graduated form the University of Maryland in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Business and Public Administration.

 

Coach Kecman and his wife Fern live in Rockville with their son John and his twin sister Katie. 

Greg Robinson, Running Backs, Linebackers

Coach Greg Robinson is in his first year as running back and linebackers coach with the Rams. 

 

Robinson has been an athlete since he began playing Pop Warner Football at age 8.  He played running back and linebacker for High Point High School starting 3 years on the varsity squad, he then went on to play for Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania.  Robinson has since continued playing, including Semi Pro for the Washington Chiefs and several flag football teams in the area. 

 

Robinson is excited to join the Rams coaching staff, this will be his first coaching position and he is delighted to share his knowledge with the players and extend his love for the game through coaching.

 

Coach Robinson and his wife Raquel live in Bowie with their son Ty.

Kurt Kohler, Junior Varsity Head Coach

 

Coach Kurt Kohler, Junior Varsity Head Coach is in second year with the Rams.  Last year Kohler served as the junior varsity defensive and offensive line coach in his first year with the Rams.

Kohler grew up in Salisbury, Maryland where he played football at Parkside High School.  Kohler played center and defensive tackle where he earned all conference honors.  After Parkside, Kohler attended the University of Delaware where he was a member of the rugby team.

Kohler is a second year teacher at Rockville High School where he teaches Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.

Coach Kohler lives in Rockville.

Ethan Fields, Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Ethan Fields, Junior Varsity Assistant Coach, comes to the Rockville football program with 19 years of coaching and football officiating experience.  Fields has served as a head and assistant coach on both the varsity and junior varsity levels.

 

Fields played football at Marshall University and was on the first winning team after twenty years of loosing following the tragic plan crash of 1970.  Fields has attained a Master's Equivalency plus thirty and is a candidate at Bowie State University in the area of Administration and Supervision.

 

Fields coached at Apex High School in North Carolina, Lee-Davis High School in Richmond, Virginia, North Surry High School in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and at Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland.  

 

Fields also serves as the Rams head wrestling coach and teaches physical education at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School.

 

Coach Fields and his wife of 20 years Dr. Jane Jackson-Fields live in Kensington, Maryland.

Darryl Hunter, Junior Varsity Volunteer Assistant Coach

Shawn Hillman, Volunteer Assistant

Coach Shawn Hillman is in his first year with the Rams as a volunteer assistant coach.

 

Hillman has been involved in football since the early 1980s as a player, scout, and more recently, position coach.  Hillman is from the Olney area and played high school football at Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland.  He began coaching on and off in the mid 1990's and coached defensive backs for two years at Einstein High School. 


For the past two years, Coach Hillman has coached defensive backs and tight ends for the Northwest Jaguars before finding a home here with the Rockville Rams.
