History of the Fighting Rams..

The Fighting Rams are a Middle School Unlimited team associated with the Rockville High School Football program. The Fighting Rams will prepare middle school players that will be attending Rockville in the next several years. The players will be taught the basics of the Rockville offense, defense and special teams and practice using the same drills and methods employed at RHS.

In 2008 the Rockville Football League established the Montgomery County Middle School Football League (MCMSL), the goal of the MCMSL is to provide serious football players an opportunity to get a jump start on high school football.  It is also designed for those players that have always been too big to play in traditional youth programs the chance to gain experience prior to playing at the next level.  The league is open to players that will be in the 8th grade in the fall, 6th and 7th graders that weigh more than 135 pounds and 7th graders that have played a minimum of one year of youth football at the 11-13 year old level (RFL Intermediate Division) and feel they would benefit by playing in the more competitive Middle School League rather than another year of traditional youth football.  In all cases there is no maximum weight.
